Finally finished the order for the WVHS Homecoming 2011 music!! I still have to finish all the effects, but the hard part is done. Now onto the choreography!! I have some of it done, but still have lots to do! Go Pack!
Here’s is the Homecoming Music I finished for this football season. I still have a couple more touches to add, but I am happy with the result. I have almost 100% of the choreography done. It has 16 8counts of dance etc. and 7 8counts of stunting with some transitions in there. sooo excited to see it come alive. I have a shorter version in the case weather is bad and we cant’ stunt.. Enjoy! Go Pack!;)
Here’s more of a simple mix I made for my cheer tryouts. I have everything all counted out. At the beginning there is a clear cue when the eight counts start. I imagine some simple tumbling, change of formation for a jump sequence with a roll off and then move into dance formation, hold 7-8 and POW!.. into the dance for the last four eight counts…I can’t wait to see it cleaned up and performed!! I love seeing what I imagine become reality!!…lol;)
I really enjoyed this assignment. I enjoy creating sound and mixing music. This is a music mix I made for a dance performance with stunting for my West Valley Football Cheereaders. I always have the girls give me music they would like to dance to and show me any moves they may have, then I create the mix and choreography. I worked really hard on making this mix.
I used garage band to make the transitions by create a single beat and then repeating it to give it sound effects for transitions and also I used sound effects I created to give the girls queues on when formations change and when there is tumbling or when I specific stunt is supposed to take place.
I also used the voice of a male student and altered their voice to introduce the school in the song.
I also purchased as CD “Cool Sound effects” and I was able to use the howls, breaking glass and whips..lol the whipping sounds is what I used to give more dramatic effects to their toe touches/ jumps.
Since I always see a band performing at football games for halftimes on TV or in anchorage. I really wanted to incorporate something like that for halftime, but unfortunately no one is in to that here. I took the beginning of song one of my cheerleaders gave me to use as the band intro and combined it with the howls etc. now I can use for the beggining of all the dances/cheer routines for halftime so now there’s just an illusion of a band for a little..lol
I also used a sound effect from freesounds.org, the audience was the touch I added with that. I went through several until I found this one that I thought sounded like it went… almost like you can picture the audience reaction after the performance..
I put everything together on Aviary and then sent it out as a MP3 to my Tumblr site.
I really enjoyed this assignment!! enjoy the mix!;)
Hi, this is my mock website. I changed the navigation buttons as I had planned. Aslo, where the photo is, I plan to have a rotating gallary. One thing that is bothering me about it are the basketballs. Let me know if you like the way the basketballs end up coming out of the page and then back into it. I was thinking of altering it and showing all the basketballs, but then I thought it might be too much. Another thing I would like to know is if you can easily understand what the page is about. I assume people who go to this site will know it is about Competitive Basketball otherwise they would not be going to it. I designed it for parents to easily access info regarding IYB Comp. As I stated, this is a mock website therefore some info was made up to use as a filler.
